Maria Schneider Visuals

Hello!

My name is Maria Schneider and I am a photojournalist at the University of Missouri, currently based in Columbia Missouri. I work for the Columbia Missourian where I produce visuals every week for print and publish. I am originally from Tampa, Florida where I grew up. Being from a culturally mixed family, I always had interest in international issues, leading me to receive a minor in Latin American Studies and spend a semester abroad in Barcelona. This has shaped what I want to cover as a photojournalist, making me lean towards stories about culture, international events, and identities. However, being from the University of Missouri, I was trained and have experience in all beats and areas of journalism.

I have always had an interest in photography. After taking advanced placement art classes in high school where I was able to freely practice photography, I was really able to shape my style and creativity which shows through in my professional work today as I continue to learn and grow.
